Too Good to be True!Monday-December 8 2008

Mission Adventures of Dr. Rose and Family Monday, December 8 2008 Dear Friends and special Prayer partners,  Too Good to be TRUE 1. A HARP FOR JENNY IS ON ITS WAY! A DEAR FRIEND IS PROVIDING IT FOR MISSION SERVICE! 2. Medical exam tools: stethoscope and Bl pressure cuff were just received 3. We almost have enough to book and pay for airlines ticket (Mine is covered. Jenny is lacking about 400) 4. School Fees and Funds for Natalie and Jess are trickling in. 5. We have enough to get a few Bibles in Tagalog We have been praying for a harp for Jenny is taking lessons at Fountainview Academy. She is picking it up quickly and excited about the sounds on the nice pedal harp at the school. I also want to learn. It has been a lifelong dream. I have a nice harp needing a couple strings. It is too large for airplane travel. I have prayed for a harp that she can take on the plane on trips to Africa and Philippines and all the appointments from here on. I know the harp size needed for the overhead luggage spaces is very small. I have a dear friend, the daughter of a pastor we once had in Oregon. (Bob Letcher) I had tried to reach Sharon 3 weeks ago by the email I had been given on a magnet I had stuck on the fridge. There was no response. Then I noticed the address of Elder Bob Letcher. I figured I could just call them and find current contact info and find Sharon who composes music, sings, and teaches harp lessons. While thinking these things over the past days, I was impressed this morning to stop what I was doing and call. I argued, wanting to finish the Bible story DVD I am making for training our little missionary. The impression became so strong. I argued till there was such a distraction I had to stop what I was doing and make the call. After I identified to them who I was and gave them my last name (SAMPLE) they remembered me and my family. Then, Sharon called them. She had much to do and was not intending to call them except wondered about some weather prediction which would affect her work plans for today. This made our connection possible for she is very difficult to get a hold of. I now have phone and email contact info and she has mine. It was a Divine appointment. She has been studying Revelation and is making a study game that will help people desire to study it more. She offered to give me a harp the size we are looking for !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When she discovered we were headed out in one week, she said she would mail it tomorrow. She wants to help in any way possible for this mission and future ones. She had just exactly what we have been praying for, for several months. IT IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. HARPS are not cheap instruments. Jenny is learning on a large, elegant, pedal harp which belongs to the school. Now she will have a small one that she can strap on and walk in procession as we illustrate heaven in the Feast of Tabernacles program of the sanctuary. She also can teach music lessons to her little missionary friend Natalie. WOW! It is too good to be true. We are short 300 of the final needs for flight tickets if we add in all the funds we have gathered for Natalie. God is working on that and Jenny is receiving some Canadian funds for her journey and for little girl Natalie and Jess that she rescued from living in streets of Manila and put in a school. This event is going to happen. We will make it to the Philippines to do the medical evangelism and musical (Harp, voice, and flute) and mission training (clinic skills) planned. No one can say we have done this thing. It is God’s work to get us outfitted and there. Yesterday I was given a stethoscope and blood pressure cuff and other much needed medical supplies. I can leave my suitcase of medical tools there and not pay so much air freight costs. I will be back to the Philippines for further training missions. I am now looking for a vision screening chart with the “tumbling E”. EXPECTED ITINERARY:If God provides today, the lacking funds, We plan to arrive in Manilla, Philippines next week on Wednesday. 17th of December about 1105pm We hope to have a place to overnight near the SDA Hospital and go south to the island the next morning. We could talk to Carla, the mom of Natalie and Jess to make sure permission is ok for taking the children to the island with us to train in a 10 day mission effort. We don’t mind sleeping on someone’s floor if need be. We hope to find a banana jeepnee to carry sanctuary to ferry and on to the village on the island of Mindoro. Sincerely, Your fellow co-laborer in the Master’s vineyard, Dr. Rose
