Friday morning Sept. 12

Dear family and friends,

Last night was the first meeting. There was a heavy thunderstorm at the beginning 15 minutes before opening night. I went to the tabernacle that was getting wet in spite of double tarp. While the people were singing, I invited them to pray. They said “yes” and kept singing. So I

I asked God to do something about the loud heavy beat of music that was coming out of the keyboard. I knelt alone by the altar of incense and asked God to stop the rain. He did. spite of requests for it not to be. Suddenly there was no power and there was rain. The keyboard and big speakers disappeared and soft sweet music was in its place as the people sang and later the choir sang. Again I praise God for His help. I am all alone it seems at times yet when I see His instant request to my prayer, there is no other conclusion but to know He is right by my side.

The meeting topic was on the theme that God is with us. The tabernacle was designed for showing this fact and His desire to give us salvation. I focused on the ark and meanings of items there in the most holy room. I was wearing my long white outfit and white shoes. I left the shoes at the laver as I showed washing of hands and entering the holy room. By middle of the program I noticed the journalist had arrived. He filmed the audience and then focused close in on me during my testimony at the end. He said he would be back but heavy rain again came mid day.

I am thankful the dust on the curtains is getting washed off. They are bulky, very large and it is an impossible hand washing task. God has done a good job. The structure they made from sticks tied together with twine, is staying put.

I am thankful they were all pleased with the program that had to be without any graphics. God was with me but the translator stumbled about so much. I could tell he was making up a lot of things. He was not willing to ask me to repeat anything. May God help His message get through.

There were several visitors present and all seemed to enjoy the program.

SINCERELY,Dr. Rose

Sabbath Sept 13, 2008

Dear Friends and family,

Heavy rains made the soil cling to shoes till you were 2 inches taller. Consequently the attendance was down e sharply Friday night. However we have had a great crowd over Sabbath hours and during the mid day service, there were 4 deciding for Jesus.

The tabernacle looks good in front of the conference offices and school. Keep praying for there are so many challenges. (power and water outages, and cold, mud, computer signal not passing to projector, microphone not cooperating with their system, etc.) God is strong.

God made power come just when my computer had to have it as the battery was running out during the publishing of a video. God also made the rain stop during the first meeting but must have wanted it to bless these people on Friday. There are people who like to help me with everything. Early morning we were drying the tarp floor of the sanctuary and emptying pockets of rain which collected in ceiling curtains. They keep giving me things to eat.  I have more than enough to eat.

Now and then there is a loud crash as an avocado is tossed onto the tin roof. I always jump with surprise. The little children love to stand and stare at me. Wish I had a children’s minister to teach them. It is more than I can handle doing both. I try to include stories for them however. They sit very nice and still during the whole program.

  Sincerely,

Your fellow co laborer in the Master’s Vineyard,

Dr. Rose

Mission Adventures of Dr. Rose and Family

 Thursday, September 11 2008

Dear family and friends,

Fast take: I am starting meetings today in Bukavu, DRC.  Sanctuary tent is set up outside in front of Adventist headquarters for the region. Pastors seem eager for the program to begin. Many struggles are behind me including the long night on the lake surrounded by drunks and my angel body guard. I have peace that God is with me and who can stand against Him? The Adventist president is next door and personally checks on food supplies and every detail of needs. I have electricity at least for the moment. Yesterday I tried to send email but the power went off everywhere.

DETAILS:

Sept 7 Sunday night the blessing happened when friend Johnson gave  $100 so I could cross Kivu Lake on a ship with all 400 pounds of supplies to begin the seminar in Bukavu.

Sept 8,Monday,  I spent a long night with some drunks, rowdy music, and movies. I had to plan the travel on this slow ship due to the size of the sanctuary. It was the best price for moving all of the program materials. God had his friend Johnson provide the funds needed. Another friend, Jean Ngirente helped coordinate things. So many others whom we had worked with in Goma were doing what they could with transport, lifting, & negotiating. It was nice to have so much help. The church friends were so helpful getting me onto the ship. Johnson stayed the longest. He had a red shirt on so I could see him on the shore. Then he called the cell phone of Samuel who was sitting next to meIt was a comfort to see him standing on the shore. How I wished my own sons were with me.

I felt so alone on the ship. A few tears came as the music was tormenting me for 9 hours. The drunk men smelled so awful.  I knew it would have been no place for my daughter. I needed my strong sons along with me. God kept reminding me to depend on no human arm. (Psalms 118) It is better to take refuge in the LORD . “The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid, what can man do to me?” vs 12 Like bees they swarm about me.  Christ Object Lessons page 233 assured me that “God makes no requirement without making provision for its fulfillment through the grace of Christ we may accomplish everything God requires.”(Jeremiah 17:5,6 says we are even cursed if we depend on people instead of Him) All the way on this journey, He has reminded me of that. It is my lesson every day on this trip. I don’t like being without another who speaks English. I prefer God’s plan of sending people out 2 by 2.

If I depend on Him, He is able to do exceedingly abundantly far above what I expect. (Eph. 3:20). I was thankful for light as I spent the night on the ship reading Bible and the book on music and Christ Object lessons. There were plenty of hours to fill my mind. I plugged my ears so I could think about what I was reading. Some of the rowdy music was in English. The music and movies were so loud. Many people in that room on the ship laughed at me because I did not enjoy what they were singing with and because of how the drunk man was bothering me. A young student named Samuel came to sit by me. He never left me. He tried to stay awake all the way. He was a self appointed guard to make people behave around me. I know God assigned him this very important task. He did many things to keep the drunks from falling on me and from tormenting me too much.  I was the only “muzungu” (white person) on the ship. Samuel told the Adventist pastors  in Bukavu that he felt it was very important to protect me because I had come to preach.  He had asked me right away if I was an evangelist.

It took the ship 12 hours to cross the African Congo river KIVU.  One drunk kept opening the window behind my head and trying to get my attention with his hands waving in my face and speaking broken English. Another drunk just jabbered loudly making all in first class giggle. The floor was covered with mattresses and little children and 5 women. It was impossible to get up and walk out to the restroom.  It was not a wise thing anyway because of my equipment being left unguarded. And because the drunk man was out there throwing shoes and things. I did not want to deal with him.

Sept 9, Tuesday - When I arrived in Bukavu the excited porters began their shouting like they did in the unforgettable Kinshasa airport. The noise comes from excitement over a chance to get one hundred dollars from a “muzungu” for moving luggage 20 feet . They fight anyone they think is blocking their way. They got 2 dollars. The police were attracted by the violent actions and the treasurer was soon in the middle of a crowd drawing event. I was able to get some of it on film. I missed the part where one of the church members were picked up bodily by porters and they were about to throw him out the gate.

Right near the pier is the church and school where meetings will be held. I will do health talks and gospel meetings.

I am in a little apartment behind the church right next to president and treasurer. There is actually plumbing. The small church only holds 150 people so we are setting up in the area around the church. Holes were made in the ground and a structure formed where I can attach curtains. Pray that we will have no heavy rain for 2 weeks at this location. The city is large.

We have electricity now after they did something at the pole. By middle of the night it shut off.

There is plenty of vegetables. I had spaghetti and made some tomato sauce. I was so hungry for I had not had any food for 24 hours due to the long boat ride and the excitement of 5 hours of loading things down at the dock on to the ship and then off. I am doing my own cooking. They provided fuel and a little stove. It tipped over and I lost what had been cooking. OOOOOh- Challenges are many but I am getting better at survival skills. Power went off so the electric hot plate they brought did not finish boiling water I was going to filter for drinking.

Pray for RAIN of the Holy Spirit and many to hear and begin climbing the ladder to be like Jesus. Pray for no physical rain to destroy our outside set up and pray for electricity steady enough to operate projector.

Sept 10, Wednesday, We spent the day constructing the sanctuary. It was a day full of challenges as we set the stage outside and then the rain came for 10 minutes. It showed them where we needed reinforcements to prevent destruction of things. It actually helped get the requested doubling of tarp over the most important part of the stage. As darkness fell, we still had a few hours of things to get done. I am exhausted.  Tomorrow the TV will make a report and the radio as well.

I was amazed at the second encounter with immigration. In Congo , you have to do an immigration thing every time you move from city to city. I guess it is because of the wars going. It is just like entering another country. The forms are the same and they demand a photo and copy of passport. I think they also charge the Adventist church some funds. They wanted me present but did not speak English. I was picking up a few French words that are  so much like Spanish.  I heard the man demanding  100 dollars  if I was going to use my camera. I said it was not important to take pictures. I did not need to remember things here anyway. Then I excused myself. There was no point in my staying. He reminded me of the man in Kalima who came every day shouting for a hundred dollars for giving me the privilege of visiting their village. There was also a man in Kindu who was doing the same thing. There was no problem in Goma or Lukanga or Lubumbashi or Kinshasa like that. (DRC cities I have been in)  It seems so strange and downright disgusting. I wonder if these guys are used to filling their own pockets this way. This is the only spot in the world that I have met up with this kind of actions. I find it so repugnant.

As I left that room , the man loudly spoke to me. He asked if I knew his name. I said, “no”. He asked why I did not want to know. Then he proudly said his name. I smiled and continued out the door. I was going to let the Adventist leaders handle this arrogant one.  He reminded me of the porters  at the ship who were looking for money  from the white person. Then he asked my name. I said I was Dr. Rose.  He repeated that and I smiled and left. I wonder why I had the immigration officer doing the same thing as I came off the ship and now another one. I keep reminding myself that Jesus reached out to Mathew the tax collector who was doing the same thing. Mathew changed and followed Jesus. Jesus also went to the home of Zaccheaus and salvation came to that home.

TODAY THURSDAY, I begin meetings. The sanctuary was washed by a heavy rain but all is intact. There is water standing on tarps inside the sanctuary but nothing is destroyed. That is one good way to get the curtains washed free of collected dust which gathers during each program, then is rolled up into the suitcase. I committed it into God’s hands as I heard the thunder in the middle of the night. I know He is with me. I have peace that He sent me and will help me. I am depending on Him alone.

Your fellow co-laborer in the Master’s vineyard,

SHYIRA Rwanda WARM Welcome and excitement to begin church build-September 4 2008

January 2nd, 2009

Mission Adventures of Dr. Rose and Family

 Thursday, September 4 2008

Dear Friends and Family,

SHYIRA Rwanda WARM Welcome and excitement to begin church build

There as such a warm welcome as I went back up the mountain in Rwanda to Shyira. The choir robes fit so nicely and the singing seemed like angels were joining the children. You will really like the DVD. It is so precious. Those little kids can really sing. God helped me keep camera batteries charged using solar panel, batteries, and at the hospital.
They were excited at the 8 tin sheets I took them for immediate shelter and later for roof of church.
I want to get the cement and sand for the foundation and have them begin immediately. Imagine going to a mountain to pray, read your Bible and sing and a thunder cloud comes every day with gifts of bucket fulls of rain to water your Bible and then a wind makes you chill to the bone in 60 degree F weather. The amazing thing is these people want to study the Bible anyway. Coughing, runny noses are part of life. They survived the genocide hiding in this mountain area. In the 13 years of recovery, they have had many challenges. They have dealt with grief and cared for orphans with their meager resources. But still like us, they want shelter. They run for the tin sheet overhang of near by houses till the rain stops and continue on.
We must not allow these believers in Jesus to wait another week. They must begin immediately. There are 98 members and 10 ready for baptism plus 35-55 children belonging to them. Some are infants. This NEW TERRITORY has all these new believers due to our meetings in March, and teacher Gospel’s faithful life. He was the first Adventist in the area. He gave Bible studies and invited me to help him when there were 13 people. By the time I was there, the number was 19. In just 5 months they have grown. The simple little church Teacher Gospel wants is like one located 2 hours walking distance up another mountain. It houses 120 so I am encouraging him to plan for a church to house 300. Pray for and let’s see the mighty hand of God multiply what is in our hands. I believe He will multiply the little I have in my hands for transportation by road through Rwanda, DRC, Burundi and to fly home.
  Pray for me.
God is doing so many miracles. I am in good health and working hard to finish the DVD of children singing by tonight before I board the bus in the morning for Rhengeti and on to the border DRC. I am back where there is electricity (Kigali)
I am paying by the minute for this email and must hurry.
If you plan to donate to the church, you can send to Rwanda only for the next 24 hours. After that, send to Democratic Republic of Congo. Follow the established described needed information as my brother Jack will specify. God will bless (Psalms 41) We need 1,000 to get foundation and started with red baked bricks. Another thousand will get them up to the roof. The tin sheets will take another 1000. I am out of time to give more details.

 Wednesday, August 27 2008

Dear Friends and Family,
Through many miracles, I am safe in the business lounge in Nairobi with boarding pass on to Kigali in 8 hours. I am so thankful for the beauty I saw in the sky. A very beautiful sunset was seen 20 minutes before encountering a heavy bad thunderstorm. I slept very well on the 9 hour flight interrupted only by a sweet kind face of the stewardess giving me fruits and bread and making sure I was comfortable. I saw a beautiful rainbow for about an hour outside my window around the sun. It was so special.
The lounge is closing at midnight and i must move upstairs till my flight.
I will report more at the next stop.
Sincerely,
Dr. Rose

God’s 26 guards July 8 2008

January 2nd, 2009

Mission Adventures of Dr. Rose and Family

 Tuesday, July 8 2008

 Dear Friends and family,
I love this story of 26 guards. It reminds me of God’s faithfulness to me also.

Eleven years ago, my son dreamed that I had special help from heaven as time progressed. Through the years since 1992, there have been warnings of danger and instructions to go by bus instead of train etc. From his dream I believe God is keeping me guarded by 45 of heaven’s body guard. As the perils of the last days are all about us and it is increasingly difficult to spread the gospel due to financial pressures and increasing crime, I am guarded by heaven’s body guard. I sure need them. So many times we face unpredictable dangers while on His assignments. Yet, God delivers us faithfully. He has called in the night to do this work (December 1,2 & 3 of 1992). It was heaven’s direct commission that made me sell my doctors office and go in faith wherever He sends in this world. My doctoring skills He provided in preparation. He arranged all my training as nurse, and Nurse practitioner, masters level and on. He instructed in the night how to dress for safety.
He took my timid nature and gave me an unexplainable boldness as I warn of the closing of the door of mercy and urge all to keep the commandments. I am thankful for my 16 year old daughter’s faithfulness in the same. She is always lifting my burdens and encouraging me. It was great to have Lloyd’s help on the Christmas mission and Kyle on this last effort in Mexico.
I have sold all and risked all to do His commands. Instead of having an income to count on, I walk in faith and often have no knowledge where each mission needs will come from. God has thousands of pockets. But even when my house burned to the ground 2 years ago, he took care of housing needs and clothing as well as bedding and food.
This story from my mission friend of another missionary protected comes as a special encouragement to us right now. I share it just as it was sent by email. Hope you see the mighty love from heaven for HIS MESSENGERS.
Those who dare to curse and scorn His workers are fighting God—–not His missionaries. The Bible warns against it in the story of Elisha where two bears came out of the woods and mauled the unruly children. The severity of God’s punishment brought 50 years of respect for HIS MESSENGER ELISHA.
Mathew 12:30 He that is not with is against and scattering instead of gathering
Mt 10:40 He that receives you, receives Him
Acts 5:33-39 Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, advised the leaders to leave the followers of Jesus alone lest they be found fighting God
After strong scorning and lack of support for the meetings, there was a strong storm of rain that made 4-6 inches of rain in a matter of minutes which hushed opposition for a few days. The work is the Lord’s. He has called me and He defends. His body guard is always there.

With respect for Jesus and His messengers, comes the wall of protection from heaven.———-His Body Guards————–
God’s 26 Guards

Here’s a message that will bring you chills.

Have you ever felt the urge to pray for someone and then just put it on a list and said,

‘I’ll pray for them later?’

Or has anyone ever called you and said, ‘I need you to pray for me, I have this need?’

Read the following story that was sent to me and may it change the way that you may
think about prayer and also the way you pray.
You will be blessed by this….

A missionary on furlough told this true story while visiting his home church in Michigan
‘While serving at a small field hospital in Africa , every two weeks I traveled by bicycle
through the jungle to a nearby city for supplies. This was a journey of two days and
required camping overnight at the halfway point.

On one of these journeys, I arrived in the city where I planned to collect money from a bank, Purchase medicine, and supplies, and then begin my two-day journey back to the field hospital.

Upon arrival in the city, I observed two men fighting, one of whom had been seriously injured. I treated him for his injuries and at the same time talked to him about the Lord.
I then traveled two days, camping overnight, and arrived home without incident….

Two weeks later I repeated my journey.

Upon arriving in the city, I was approached by the young man I had treated.
He told me that he had known I carried money and medicines.  He said, ‘Some friends and I followed you in to the jungle, knowing you would camp overnight. We planned to kill you and take your money and drugs.  But just as we were about to move into your camp, we saw that you were surrounded by 26 armed guards.

At this, I laughed and said that I was certainly all alone in that jungle campsite.
The young man pressed the point, however, and said, ‘No, sir, I was not the only person to see the guards, my friends also saw them, and we all counted them.
It was because of those guards that we were afraid and left you alone.’

At this point in the sermon, one of the men in the congregation jumped to his feet and
Interrupted the missionary and asked if he could tell him the exact day this happened.
The missionary told the congregation the date, and the man who interrupted told him this story:

‘On the night of your incident in Africa, it was morning here and I was preparing to go play golf. I was about to putt when I felt the urge to pray for you.
In fact, the urging of the Lord was so strong, I called men in this church to meet with me here in the sanctuary to pray for you.

Would all of those men who met with me on that day stand up?’

The men who had met together to pray that day stood up.
The missionary wasn’t concerned with who they were,
He was too busy counting how many men he saw.

There were 26

This story is an incredible example of how the Spirit of the Lord moves in behalf of those who love Him.
If you ever hear such prodding, go along with it.

Nothing is ever hurt by prayer except the gates of hell.
I encourage you to forward this to as many people
As you know If we all take it to heart,
We can turn this world toward God once again.
As the above true story clearly illustrates,
‘With God all things are possible’.

More importantly, how God hears and Answers the prayers of the faithful.

Mission Adventures of Dr. Rose and Family

 Tuesday, July 8 2008

Dear Family and friends,

In 6 WEEKS we are leaving to do day clinics and morning and evening Gospel meetings including the sanctuary program in 3 Countries in Africa.

THE CHURCH GRATITUDE GIFTS:

God’s “promises are like flowers along our path in life.” STC 117 We treasure all the promises and the special blessings we had at the end of our meetings. We were treated by church members to 3 times at the beach after meetings were finished. The pastor’s wife also took us 3 times in the early mornings for exercise during our meeting program. We went to walk along the beach and swam on the last Sunday after meetings. Then on Monday we again visited the beach to swim where there were large waves. At that time we made a video of a young man who has a testimony regarding his turning away from rock music and finding therapy utilizing Scripture music and hymns to cleanse his mind of the old songs. Anyone want a copy of that DVD? Just ask me.

We had a whole day in a beautiful park. It was expensive, but our dear church member friends wanted to pay and provide transport. It was fantastic. There was a garden of flowers, butterfly house, underground river to swim in, dolphins, manatee, monkeys, fish, snorkeling, and so much beauty and natural jungle plants to wander through on paths to each section. It gave opportunity to be refreshed and fill the camera with nature pictures for future youth programs. Some of this will be included on our next DVD of God’s miraculous power. Jesus healed 10 lepers and one came back to tell Him thanks. What about the other 9? There were also members who made generous donations towards our mission to Africa. The pastor’s wife gave a typical dress from the Yucatan. I am content that our work was greatly appreciated. Many were strengthened in their faith.

CONVERSION STORY

One man was struggling with his decision for baptism due to His Sabbath work problem of breaking the 4th commandment. He liked his job security. The battle was strong. I told him his sons would follow him. He mentioned that in a dream he saw that someone would tell him that. As I was making the final altar call, he struggled. I kept looking at him and praying and urging anyone in the crowd. Our eyes met and he headed up to the front and put his name in the book of life. Tears were in his eyes. When he spoke with the pastor that evening, he made his plans. Sabbath at the time of the baptism, I did not see him. When the last one present was baptized here came the man with clothes under his arm. His wife had responsibilities in another church and they had only one vehicle. Was it too late? The pastor returned to the tank and great was the rejoicing as the man sang along before being immersed in the water. His sons stood near by along with his wife, rejoicing. The 8 year old son also wanted to be baptized yet the pastor felt he was not ready.

The victory brought joy to all who were watching. Heaven also was singing as they inscribed his name into heaven’s book of life. We pray that he will remain firm for keeping the commandments. I am thankful God called me to do this work. It is His work. He convicts and changes lives. But I am delighted for the part I have.

We are soon to go on another request God has for us. We are to visit (for one day) places in Rwanda we have worked in the northern mountains and then enter DRC to speak in Goma for Sabbath then cross in a boat to Bukavu to do a series of meetings. After 2.5 weeks there, we will cross into Burundi to do another series in a school in the capital, Bujumbura.

Thanks for praying for us. We are daily claiming the promise of the outpouring of the Spirit of God that thousands will desire to be in heaven. This morning I read this wonderful promise, “thousands of voices will be imbued with the power to speak forth the wonderful truths of God’s Word. The stammering tongue will be unloosed, and the timid will be made strong to bear courageous testimony to the truth. May the Lord help His people to cleanse the soul temple from every defilement, and to maintain such a close connection with Him that they may be partakers of the latter rain…”

I testify to the truth in this for I was the most timid in class. It was so painful for me to speak. When the teacher would call on me to explain something, my knees would tremble, hands went cold and sweaty, and I was ready to faint. I never wanted to speak. I took a Theology degree in Walla Walla along with my Nursing Degree only with the desire to be allowed into the deeper studies of the Bible offered only to Theology students, also so I could as a doctor be able to assist people spiritually who were dying. It seemed people needed chaplain assistance at one to three in the morning when no one from the chaplains were sleeping.

But this inspired comment shows what God the Holy Spirit can do. “The stammering tongue will be unloosed, and the timid will be made strong to bear courageous testimony to the truth.”

I am thankful to God that He has included me among the thousands of voices. It has made my life so full of joy. When God called me in a dream three nights in a row, I argued that I could not speak well. He has provided now all these years. My Divine commission began this project of 16 years but it is a daily choice. At any time I am free to leave His service. I am not paid wages. I never know where funds will come from. Daily I pray for His promised help and guidance. Our faith increases with each mission as we see His miraculous power to heal the sick, cast out demons, heal motors, charge batteries, provide funds, and raise the dead.

It makes us more determined to do HIS REQUESTS. “The more determined we are to obey, and the firmer our faith…the greater the rage of Satan from professed believers who trample on the law.” GW 274

We have to pray for those who scorn. The ten commandment number 3 speaks against any criticism against God’s workers. Mathew 10:40

Mathew 12:30 says that He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

Thank you for praying for our efforts in the tourist town of Cancun.

We could hear all that was said against us in Spanish. Even though we spoke in Spanish, some were so full of hate that they continually caused us grief scorning our work for Jesus. It seemed strange that it came from those who said they were working for God. God never scorns those He called in the night in a dream. Jesus said, He that is not with me is against me.

We are thrilled that we have a small package of Swahili Ten Commandment Posters ready to go and 40 Final Events DVDS . The Swahili and KenyaRwandan Bible lessons are in progress. We are copying some of the miracle story DVDS. We use these as rewards for quiz time. Thanks for prayers and support.

Dear Friends and family,

BREAD MAKING
Jenny is making delicious whole wheat bread to raise funds for church building in Rwanda. Let her know how many to make for you. She has 10 loaves ready in the freezer & baked Sunday.

SWAHILI BIBLE LESSON TRANSLATION in Progress
There is never a wasted moment in our home. We are working hard to get ready for Africa.
We are happy to be home from Cancun, and are preparing Bible lessons into the Swahili and Kenyarwanda languages.
It takes an hour for each lesson for cutting and pasting the translated items around the graphics. There are 39 lessons. All the Kenyarwandan is translated but not yet on pages. (80 hours before going to the copy place)

The next step is making 2 up copies and finally it goes to a printer/copier who can produce and bind them. (This step takes 20 hours to make a good master set)
CANCUN DVD:
At the same time we are waiting for pictures to be sent as promised from Cancun team members who took some important pictures needed for the DVD

STORY: SILENT WOMAN FOR more than 20 YEARS
At the evangelistic meetings, there was a request to visit and pray for a woman who was not functioning mentally and socially for more than 20 years. I responded and pastor Joel, as well as my translator Amos, Jenny and Kyle went along with me.

The terrified woman stiffened, shook our hands and wanted to hide in her room. Her father told the story of her misfortune as a young woman. She wanted to go out on the streets at night. The parents were so concerned for her habit of being out late on the street.

One night she came back looking like she had been beaten and abused sexually. She did not speak about what happened. Later she gave birth to a son. Over time, Maria spoke less and less. She refused to cook or wash clothing or do any of the normal daily chores. She was given many medications but nothing seemed to help. The father spent his wealth on the daughter to restore her. Now that he is 78 he fears what will happen when he is dead. The son is raised in the same home and now is twenty. They have worked hard to bring about respect and love from the son. He now is working to pay for his schooling.

Early in the morning, God awakened me with the dream that I was to go back to the home and visit alone with this unfortunate woman. I did not have the address or phone number and her 78 year old parents go out daily to work. In fact the people were so poor, they did not have a phone. How could I get inside that home and find the hiding woman? God would have to work it out. I did not know what to do.

While I was trying to make sense of my early morning dream, I walked over to the Sanctuary tent praying as I walked. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the Pastor had asked the 78 year old father to guard the tabernacle. There he was being bitten by ants, unable to rest, sitting inside the tent. We took him some food and water. He was so thrilled to see us again and wanted to pay me for my consultation and prayers for his daughter.
He was happy to go home and tell his wife and daughter that I was coming again to visit and help.

The pastor dropped me off and said he would be back in an hour. Maria was afraid yet listened. It took a long time before she would even say one word. Yet I could see a frightened woman hiding there who did understand many things. It was like she was locked inside and did not allow herself out. I shared many Bible promises for an hour and prayed often through our time together. She said nothing and I wondered if I was doing anything helpful. After forty five minutes, I noticed a developing trust. I sent her to call her mom to visit with me. Soon her mom was there and answered my questions. Finally I heard the sound of the car horn and knew the pastor had come for me.

I hugged and kissed her goodbye in the fashion the Mexicans do as they part or greet each other. She seemed surprised and appreciative. The mom was thrilled. Both parents have so much love and concern for their daughter.

The family wanted some medication. They had stopped all the other medications because of the expense. I had nothing to offer except the use of charcoal to remove the side effects of the other large quantities of drugs she had tried. I suggested food items which would increase her mental performance.
After our time together, the parents noted improvements. She actually came out of her home and attended my meeting. I saw her briefly as I shook hands at the door. I have hope that God’s instructions to me to go to her home and visit and pray was an opening door for this royal daughter of God to come out of her locked cell and enter society again. I continue to pray for her.

I keep praying that this dear daughter of God will be accepted and forgiven and allowed to let her own light shine. I dream of someday hearing her speak freely about how Jesus restored her.

Mission Adventures of Dr. Rose and Family

 Saturday, June 28 2008  Written June 22

Dear Friends and Family,}  We praise God because every night there is one or two deciding for baptism at our meetings. There are over 30 names in the book of life. There is increasing interest in the sanctuary.   Please pray for Satan always makes mountains of difficulties during the last 4 to 6 days before baptism and now we are there.

Yesterday (Sunday) the group from Montemorelos needed to set up their outdoor large model. The objective promised when I invited them, was to encourage more to attend the meetings that cover all the doctrines in the sanctuary.   These young people want to be missionaries. We prayed and felt that it would be good to encourage them to share the gospel. I communicated with my translator in Montemorelos to allow them. He took risks on his own to put a down payment on a vehicle and trailer and bring them this long distance to Cancun to work with us in this evangelistic effort.

This translator has done work for me 3 times before.

The place chosen was full of trash. Jenny and I prayed about what we should do. My back is not designed for carrying heavy things and many times I have had loss of function and suffered to the extreme of not being able to walk. Yet as I prayed, I was impressed that my work would be a testimony by picking up trash. Jenny and I were throughout the day provided with many bags to fill. When we had the little bags full, a neighbor lady who had been watching, brought some tall strong woven bags. Then after a couple more hours some men came with plastic bags. We worked hard. At first a large cloud was above us. When the sun came out, I told God I needed another cloud. He did it. Then by 10, my back was done for. I was in a lot of pain but I kept a smile on my face to encourage the young students. They asked me why I was picking up trash. I told them that one cannot set up a tabernacle in the middle of beer bottles and other trash. It is disgusting to God. I knew people would also take pictures and a mountain of trash would set a very bad appearance.  The Lord kept reminding me that Jesus came to serve as a humble servant. He is king of the Universe and could demand the service and get it, but He loves so much, He was willing to live in poverty and serve humbly on this earth and I wanted to follow in His way. HE was hated, for the people expected Jesus to come as a king who had many servants.

The police came and asked what we were doing. They made a report by whatever the local church members told them. There were several kind men present cutting bushes and tree limbs and making fires to burn what could be burned., We were up and out there by 6am. We had no trash bags. We took the little grocery sacks  and worked hard. Then we found some buckets and filled them with beer bottles and pop bottles. It was ´so special to have neighbors bring bags.  A couple hours later, the young people came. Pray for unity as we struggle to work.

A government pickup came and picked up the trash and the place began to look a little cleaner yet much still needs to be cleaned on the South and West.

    They started tours last night.

Early this morning, the Lord awakened me urging me to go back to a home that has a woman mentally troubled. I am to go without many people and pray again and try to visit and encourage her. I am about to go.

Update on Kyle: His teeth are hurting less and his second degree sunburn is hurting a bit less. Thanks for your prayers

Dear Family and friends,REGARDING MEXICO EMINENT DEPARTURE

We are a week and one day away from departure to Mexico to do another medical evangelism project. We praise God that our tickets this time, were free because of our points for flying many times.

Kyle, our third son is graduating this week end from Academy. He will go with us to Mexico.

RE: AFRICA (August-Oct)

I just received good news from the areas we have been. There is a children’s choir in Shyira, in the Northern Mountains of Rwanda. We had a baptism of 70 and gave out 87 Bibles in March. We plan to see them for one day only on our way to do an assignment in Congo. (DRC)

This small group in Shyira is growing and enduring some persecution. One little child has suffered much in his home yet he insists on coming to church. A couple children had their Bibles taken from them and sold by family members not happy with their decision to follow Jesus. I want to go back in there with some little children choir robes and then record their sweet gospel songs.

How many of you readers would give 25 dollars donation for a DVD of their singing? It all goes towards their little dirt floor church? These folk sit in the rain for several hours trying to Study the Bible together on weekends and often daily also. In faith, this small group has put their own money out to begin purchase. They need some help. If you send me your name and address and donation before I go in there, I will get some cloth and make robes and put them on these kids and film them singing. Then I can send your DVD to you when I return October15, 2008.

I bought them a couple tarps but the water comes down so fast, the shelter only keeps 10 percent of the moisture off.

I have finished the DVDS on the AFRICA experience. It always strengthens our faith when we look at the miracles and providences that have happened on these missions. We also study the lessons God taught us. This time, I plan to carry the small water filter again as we did in 2006.

PHILIPPINES UPDATE:

Jenny’s little street children that she is getting sponsors for in the Philippines are making progress. They are learning English and learning to sing. Both Natalie and Jess are there now. We praise God. Their board is costing more than we have. We pray that someone will want to help with the monthly needs they have for eating. Nathalia will be starting her second year there now.

Our plan is to take them once a year on a mission training program like I did for my own children. They will sing, and learn how to operate laptop and projector and greet the people handing out items and sharing their faith. We will go in DECEMBER to the Philippines to do this.

MEXICO NEXT WEEK

NEXT WEEK we are leaving to do the sanctuary program in Mexico. Thanks for praying for us. We are thrilled that we have our 1000 Ten Commandment Posters ready to go and 40 Final Events DVDS as well as 300 Desire of Ages and Steps to Christ in Spanish. We have finished copying some of the miracle story DVDS. We use these as rewards for quiz time. We are pondering the feasibility of doing a clinic.

If you would like to see the list of urgent needs, and you want to help by praying for these or financial support, go to www.Jennysbibles.com.

Sincerely,

Dr. Rose and Jenny
